Friday Tasting

To get a head start on the long weekend, Hillside Liquor Store and Mike's Hard products will be doing a tasting. From 4-8 pm, Mike's Hard will be on hand providing samples of the Mike's Pink Lemonade, the Mike-a-rita and the Mike's Mojito.

25% of the net proceeds of the Mike's Pink Lemonade goes to the Canadian Breast Cancer Network, so if you are looking for a reason to buy other than the fact that the Pink Lemonade is delicious, why not consider it a charitable donation? They are trying to reach the $100000 mark, and are almost there at just about $75000!

The Mike-a-rita and the Mike's Mojito are pre-made versions of the classic cocktails- the Margarita and the Mojito.

The Mike-a-rita is made with a vodka base, Blue Agave nectar, natural lime juice and orange liqueur, giving it a real margarita flavour! Chill and serve over ice in a salt-rimmed glass, or drink as is from the can! Perfect for outdoor activities, this is 7% and available in the 4 can format.

The Mike's Mojito is their spin on the classic Mojito- made with mint extract, lime juice, sugar and full bodied rum flavour. This is a vodka based cocktail, 7% alcohol and available in the 4 can format.

We received Derniere Volonte, Peche Mortel, Rosee d'Hibiscus and the Routes des Epices. All are available in the 341 ml single bottle format

Blond Abbey-style beer "Bottle conditioned" - 6.5% alc./vol.
Dernière volonté (French for "Last Will") is a mix of Belgian and English brewing traditions. Complex flavours of hop flowers and spicy, fruity esters from our Belgian yeast are perfectly balanced with the robust flavours and aromas of malt. The finish is commandeered by an assertive aroma from dry-hopping. Only $2.75 per single bottle!

Imperial coffee stout "Bottle conditioned" - 9.5% alc./vol.
Péché Mortel (French for "Mortal Sin") is an intensely black and dense beer with very pronounced roasted flavours. Fair trade coffee is infused during the brewing process, intensifying the bitterness of the beer and giving it a powerful coffee taste. Péché mortel is brewed to be savored; we invite you to drink it in moderation. This stout style, high in alcohol and bitterness in order to favour preservation, was historically brewed to support the long and arduous voyage necessary to export the beer from England to Russia. The word Imperial comes from the fact that the beer was specially brewed for the Russian tsar’s court.
$2.95 per single bottle!

Hibiscus flower Wit "Bottle conditioned" - 5% alc./vol.
Rosée d’Hibiscus is a soft spoken wheat beer. The rose colour comes from the hibiscus flowers added during the brewing process. The aromas and flavour of this tropical flower are very prominent in the beer, giving it a slight acidity and a very agreeable fragrance. It is the perfect thirst quencher on a hot summer day. $2.75 per single bottle!

Peppercorn rye beer - 5% alc./vol.
Routes des épices (French for "Spice Route") is a rye beer brewed with both black and green peppercorns. Initially, the beer reveals flavours of fresh grain and malt, which give it notes of chocolate, caramel, and fruit. The pepper flavour and aroma is fully revealed in the finish, which leaves a pleasant, spicy, tingling sensation on the tongue. $2.75 per single bottle!
